It can be difficult for people to develop their faith. However, it is achievable through a process of encouraging positive thoughts and then making affirmative actions. If thoughts are backed by strong emotions, such as Faith, then they have a greater chance of being expressed in actions.
Faith can also be cultivated through your fellowship with those who have discovered their higher consciousness and are also seeking truth. I personally strive to hang with fellow seekers who are more advanced on the path.

The cross-cultural similarities he talks about are fascinating, too significant to ignore. Birth-tales of the hero, like Moses of The Bible, can be found in many folklore throughout geography and time.

What Rank gives us is a standard formula for any given hero story. He explores the myths of Greek Gods such as Hercules and of Christian Saints like Jesus Christ.

Rank believed in the benefits of using the analysis in the present "The Power of Now" rather than reliving the past.

I always like to start with explanation of the characters, like Indra who is one of the chief deities in Rigveda. Explain the similarities and differences between the Brahman of the Hindu and the God of Abraham - good starting perspective for newbies. Many symbols from the Vedas were brought into Budism like "Indra's Net". Descriptions that people can see and visualize.

Mike, thanks for bringing your insights into the Rig Veda. I understand that you are attempting a synoptic, objective introduction to the Rig Veda, for those who have never had the opportunity to read it in any form before.
With over 10,500 mantras, 1028 hymns spread apart into 10 massave books, it might be helpful to quote the first few mantras of each hymn to give your readers a feel of the Veda's contents and also provide a synoptic account of each verse.
This is a great undertaking! Thanks Mike.

Hi Doc, Thanks for the post. I don't do anything with Sanskirt so English translations are always helpful!

It reminds me of something I heard Swami Vivedanada said,

"“Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success, that is way great spiritual giants are produced.”"
